After an earlier tease of the latest Street Fighter x Fortnite collaboration, Epic has finally confirmed which two characters are set to join its battle royale shooter as playable character skins. The two new Street Fighter characters joining Fortnite are none other than Cammy and Guile.
Cammy and Guile are headed to Fortnite
Earlier in February, Epic Games added Ryu and Chun-Li to the long list of crossover characters in Fortnite. The two came with classic costumes and brought other Street-Fighter-themed accessories along with them. Fast forward to today and Epic is preparing to double down on its Street Fighter crossover.
— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) August 3, 2021 Initially, Epic didn’t confirm which Street Fighter characters were coming to Fortnite. All that fans had to go on was a teaser image. The image, which was uploaded on the game’s official Twitter account, shows the character select screen from Super Street Fighter II. It held the caption “Here come two new challengers!”. Naturally, this sent the more curious fans on an investigative run. Most speculated that because the Fortnite bus’ flight path took it through the central United States, over the Atlantic, and straight into the USSR, the next Street Fighter character would be from Russia. Many suggested that this meant that Zangief was headed to Fortnite. Meanwhile, others speculated that it was Guile and/or Balrog, while a few believed that it was Cammy. In the end, the latest Fortnite x Street Fighter crossover will see Cammy and Guile enter the battle royale title. The official announcement arrived first on the Street Fighter V Summer Update live stream before Epic confirmed it on their website a couple of minutes later. Just like Ryu and Chun-Li, Guile and Cammy will each come in two styles, with back bling, and an emote. As you can see from the image above, Guile and Cammy are sporting their trademark looks in their default skin. However, as we’ve already mentioned, both will come with alternatives. For Guile, it will come in the form of the Glistening Guile Variant and the K.O back bling. Meanwhile, Cammy’s extra style, Tactical Cammy Variant, will come with the Borealis Backer back bling. Guile and Cammy’s arrival in Fortnite will also include an extra gear bundle, the Cammy and Guile Gear Bundle, which comes with Guile’s Knuckle Buster Pickaxe, Cammy’s Delta Red Bowing Blade Pickaxe, and the V-Trigger Vector Glider. In addition to the skins, Epic will hold the Cammy Cup, an in-game competition that will let players earn the Cammy skin before it becomes available on the item shop on August 8.
