The 120-minute documentary, “Woooooo! Becoming Ric Flair:”, is directed by Ben Houser, VP & Executive Producer at WWE, with the Emmy Award-winning sportscaster, Tom Rinaldi, serving as its narrator. Here’s what Flair shared about the documentary in a press release.
— Ric Flair® (@RicFlairNatrBoy) December 5, 2022 Many consider The Nature Boy the greatest professional wrestler in wrestling history. Flair’s career spanned close to five decades and he’s the first to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice. But, while he’s spent the bulk of his later years with Vince McMahon’s wrestling promotion, the two have been seemingly at odds in recent years. Specifically, the WWE had distanced itself from Flair due to the backlash from a “Dark Side of the Ring” episode from last year. It’s even believed that the AEW refused to sign Flair due to the same backlash from the said episode following his release from the WWE. With that said, the relationship between the WWE and Flair appears to be better lately. The 16-time world champion is set to appear on the 30th-anniversary episode of “WWE Raw” on January 23. Although he still isn’t a huge fan of the WWE’s decision to induct JBL into the WWE Hall of Fame. As for Woooooo! Becoming Ric Flair, the promo and press release all but confirms that its main focus will be on The Nature Boy’s story in the WWE. Before wrestling for the then-WWF, Flair had already spent years headlining events for the JCP (Jim Crocket Promotions) and WCW (World Championship Wrestling). The Nature Boy also spent time with the AJPW (All Japan Pro Wrestling) and the TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling). We’ll find out more about the controversies Woooooo! Becoming Ric Flair will and will not address when it streams on December 26 on Peacock.
