Gran Turismo 7 on the PS5 with DualSense is next level

In the latest trailer for the first numbered installment in the Gran Turismo series in years, fans got a chance to hear more about the game straight from the studio’s director. Kazunori Yamauchi takes audiences through the cars and tracks that will be in Gran Turismo 7. In particular, how everything looks so much better when running on the PS5. According to Yamauchi, Gran Turismo 7’s performance on the PS5 is something that the studio has been “striving for throughout the [entire] series”. He adds that he feels that the studio has “achieved a level of realism that’s tangible.” The trailer then goes on to detail just how much the PS5’s hardware and the DualSense combine to help recreate the feeling of being on the racetrack in Gran Turismo 7. For example, the adaptive triggers will adjust by adding resistance that eventually goes away once you have fully stopped. Of course, the main advantage of Gran Turismo 7 is the power of the PS5, with Yamauchi explaining that “images which previously looked like CGI no longer look that way.” We have found out a lot about Gran Turismo 7 this year. A few months ago, we learned that Sony had delayed the game. Sometime later, Jim Ryan confirmed that Gran Turismo 7 was headed to the PS4 as well. There have also been talks about the game requiring an online connection at all times, which Sony hasn’t clarified yet. Thankfully, gearheads don’t have to wait too long to find out more about the latest Gran Turismo game. Gran Turismo 7 is scheduled to launch on March 4, 2022, on both the PS4 and the PS5. Unfortunately, we don’t have a trailer of the game on the PS4, so we’re hoping that Polyphony Digital does a Guerilla Games one of these days and delights fans.
