What is Ghost Recon Frontline?
Ghost Recon Frontline is a live service free-to-play shooter with multiple game modes. However, for its initial reveal, Ubisoft chose to highlight one mode specifically. Expedition is essentially the game’s take on the standard battle royale formula. In it, players will team up in groups of three and drop in a huge open-world island map, Drakemoor. The map will feature dynamic objectives and is home to several biome types. Also, unlike standard battle royale games, Expedition will feature players doing other activities as well. For example, players can gather and protect intel, as well as take down enemies and interrogate them for the whereabouts of their teammates. Ghost Recon Frontline will also feature different ways to win. Ubisoft Bucharest, the game’s developers, claims that Frontline is “built on core Ghost Recon values”. This means that the gameplay encourages players to find solutions to certain in-game problems. This might also help explain the different ways to win in the game. Speaking of, players will have the ability to call in vehicles, auto-turrets, and even on-demand sniper towers as well.
When is Ghost Recon Frontline going to be available?
Ubisoft now has at least three free-to-player multiplayer shooters set to launch within the next few years. The studio is in a good position to take advantage of the growing popularity of similar titles going forward.
