Thankfully, Bethesda finally broke its puzzling silence about Starfield at E3 2021. Audiences from around the globe were treated to a whole slew of new content for Starfield at the Xbox E3 2021 showcase. Scroll down below to learn more about everything there is to know about Starfield.

Is There a Starfield Trailer Available?

After years of anticipation, Bethesda has finally given fans a more detailed glimpse of Starfield at E3 2021 with a proper trailer. From the first trailer, we can learn several important details about Starfield. Perhaps the most significant piece of information is that Starfield will not take place on Earth. Although this was probably a given considering the name. Just where exactly is now the question. All we can tell is that the game takes place in a moon-like space area with a fully staffed station that uses guns, for some reason. With armed staff members in space, one can only assume that Starfield will feature enemy counters. Maybe there’ll be aliens in Starfield? Or perhaps other hostile explorers? It could also be both. Another thing is that the trailer seems like it’s talking directly to the player and that the protagonist apparently works for the Constellation. There are also robots, so we know that it’s not set in modern times. Space ships aren’t seen though. If that’s the case, then Starfield might take place somewhere within the 21st century, probably a couple of decades from now.

What Is the Starfield Gameplay Like?

Unfortunately, while Bethesda did showcase Starfield at E3 2021, the studio’s exhibition didn’t include any gameplay footage. We do know that it’s a sci-fi game, so it’ll stand in stark contrast to Bethesda’s previous works. Both The Elder Scrolls and Fallout have either been set in an alternate fantasy reality or post-apocalyptic earth, respectively. However, what we do know is that Starfield is a massive undertaking, both literally and figuratively. Instead of an open-world setting, it’ll have procedurally generated elements and will strictly be a single-player experience. Howard has also confirmed, in interviews with various media outlets, that the NPCs in Starfield will play a big role, with sprawling cities that players can visit in the game too. Just in case we forgot to mention, Elon Musk is involved in Starfield in some capacity. Rumor has it that Musk’s company, Space X, served as an inspiration for Starfield. Whether or not he’ll appear in the game is unconfirmed. However, knowing Musk, we wouldn’t be surprized to see him feature!

Will Starfield Be a Next-Gen Title?

Yes. Starfield is a next-gen title from Bethesda. It’s also an Xbox exclusive, which means that it will only be available on the Xbox Series S and X, as well as the PC. Starfield being a next-gen exclusive was all but confirmed after Microsoft acquired Bethesda, especially after Microsoft released a statement confirming the same back in March 2021. Of course, we’re not ruling out the possibility of Sony reaching out to Microsoft to work out a deal and make Starfield available on the PlayStation 5. However, because it’s an Xbox exclusive, the only way for that to happen (if it does) is down the line, after months if not years.

Can You Play Starfield on Xbox Game Pass?

Yes. Microsoft’s video game subscription service for the Xbox platform just keeps on getting better. Starfield will be available on the Xbox Game Pass when it launches.

When Is the Starfield Release Date?

According to Bethesda, Starfield will launch on November 11, 2022. Considering that Starfield is confirmed to be a purely single-player experience, we shouldn’t expect Bethesda to launch any Alpha or Beta tests before the launch date. At least, not one that will be available publicly.
