Now, not more than two months later and its second DLC is set to drop. Titled “Myths of the Eastern Realm”, the Second Immortals Fenyx Rising DLC is set to land on March 25 for all the available platforms and will feature an entirely new story in a unique setting based on Chinese mythology.
What is the Myths of the Eastern Realm DLC?
After seeing Fenyx prove himself and join the Greek pantheon in A New God, the second Immortals Fenyx Rising DLC will take players on a new adventure. Instead of the newly-minted diety Fenyx, the DLC will have players taking control of a new character in Ku. The DLC will be set in a new massive open-world that takes heavy inspiration from Chinese mythology. It will feature an entirely new set of exotic enemies for players to fight against and a different set of deities. Because of the setting and the character, Ubisoft saw fit to hand over the reins for the second DLC to their Chengdu studio. To serve as a teaser for the Myths of the Eastern Realm DLC, Ubisoft added a free update to Immortals Fenyx Rising. The said update added a new optional quest that players can start at the southern part of the Valley of Eternal Spring. Completing the platforming challenge offered by the quest grants players a unique reward. More importantly, it offers players a glimpse of what’s to come in the upcoming paid DLC. Ubisoft has yet to reveal a price for the Myths of the Eastern Realm DLC. However, if it’s similar to the A New God DLC, it’ll be available for $14.99 as a standalone purchase and will come free for those with a Season Pass.
Two Down, One More DLC To Go
Immortals Fenyx Rising has been quietly chugging along as one of the most fun yet underrated games to play. Although it doesn’t bring a lot of new things to the table, it does carry a level of refinement that you wouldn’t have expected from a game this relatively unknown. Plus, Ubisoft seems to have everything regarding the game mapped, especially in the postgame expansion department. Ubisoft already gave players the first DLC with A New God, which was basically a continuation of Fenyx’s adventure. However, instead of saving the world, it switched up the gameplay. The DLC revolved mostly around trials in the form of challenging platforming puzzles that players will have to complete to prove that Fenyx is worthy of becoming a god. Luckily, Myths of the Eastern Realm should be more like the base game. As mentioned earlier, it features a new protagonist set in a distant land inspired by Chinese mythology. Following this is the third planned DLC for Immortals Fenyx Rising titled “The Lost Gods”. Not much is known about the upcoming DLC yet outside of it featuring a top-down view and brawler-style combat as it sees a new hero go through an “epic adventure to reunite the Greek gods”.
