This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard of Returnal’s PC port. The game was included in the infamous Nvidia GeForce Now leak. Then, in May, cybersleuths eventually found out that the listing for “Oregon” on Steam was for the PC port of Returnal. Now, hawk-eyed observers have noticed an interesting update on the Steam listing for Returnal. Specifically, a ResetEra user points out that the string of changes made earlier this month suggests that Returnal is probably gearing up for a PC release soon with full Steam Deck support. It’s becoming increasingly more likely that Returnal become the first true PS5 game to hit the PC. Technically, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will beat it to the punch, but the Spidey game is more of an updated version of the original 2018 title rather than a full game made specifically for the PS5. With Sony expecting to make $300 million from PC ports this fiscal year, bringing Returnal to the PC could help. But, the most interesting part here is the lack of release dates. We still don’t know the release dates of the PC versions of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves and The Last of Us Part 1. Hopefully, the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man in August will help provide more clarity. The current fiscal year will end on March 2023, which leaves Sony just around eight months to meet its sales quota. It’s not impossible, but the lack of transparency will affect pre-order sales figures. Speaking of PlayStation exclusives headed to the PC, Sony also still hasn’t confirmed the PC versions of Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Ghost of Tsushima, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
