Now, Sony just revealed part of the reason why it’s confident in hitting such a high mark. At its June 2022 State of Play showcase, Sony confirmed that on August 12 Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered is headed to Steam and the Epic Games Store for PC gamers to enjoy. Sony didn’t share how much Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will cost, but we don’t think that it will stray from the established $50 price point of the other PC ports of PlayStation exclusives. In a follow-up blog post, Insomniac Games confirmed that more news is coming such as the minimum and recommended PC requirements, among others. In the meantime, we’ll have to settle for what we know of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered. A PS5 title, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered added ray tracing and several other graphical improvements to the 2018 title when it came out just two years later, along with compiling all the DLC content. Judging by the alpha footage of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered at the showcase, the game should look better on the PC. With Marvel’s Spider-Man confirmed for the PC, four out of the five best-selling exclusive PS4 games will be available on the PC before the year ends. The only one remaining is The Last of Us, which implies that it’s just a matter of time before Joel and Ellie make their way to the PC. Speaking of best-selling PS4 exclusives, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection still does not have a release date on the PC. However, with Marvel’s Spider-Man taking up August, we can assume that the remastered bundle will be available on the Epic Games Store and Steam by June, as per earlier leaks. The only question now for Sony is, what’s next? If we go by the Nvidia GeForce Now leak, the PC ports of Returnal and Ghost of Tsushima are on the docket, along with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, among others.
