Principal photography on Quantumania officially began last July. It was around the same time that Bill Murray confirmed he had shot some footage with Reed, which many believed was for Quantumania. Unfortunately, details about Quantumania have been scarce since November after principal photography wrapped up. Fast forward to today and a series of photos featuring Rudd on the set of Quantumania in San Francisco has popped up.

Rudd first joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2015’s Ant-Man where he stumbled upon Hank Pym’s suit and donned the costume to become the titular superhero. Since then, Rudd has played a key role in the MCU, helping out Captain America against Iron Man in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War before working with the rest of the Avengers crew to save the universe in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame by going back in time. With the universe now free from the crutches of Thanos’ tyranny, Rudd’s Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne, otherwise known as the Wasp, finally have more time to research more about the Quantum Realm. As always, Marvel Studios has done an excellent job keeping a tight lid over the plot of Quantumania, but there are some things that we know. For example, Katherine Newton will take over as Scott Lang’s daughter, Cassie, in what many presume is a preparation for a much bigger role as a potential superhero in the future. Meanwhile, Jonathan Majors, who played He Who Remains in Loki, will serve as the bad guy as Kang the Conqueror. It appears that the threequel will tackle the mysteries of the Quantum Realm and might involve some visits across time given the involvement of Kang the Conqueror, a notorious time-traveling entity in the comic books. Fans shouldn’t expect Marvel Studios to talk about And-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania until a few months before it premieres. Judging by how Kevin Feige’s lovechild has handled things lately, we wouldn’t be surprised if the first trailer for Quantumania makes its debut as a post-credits scene for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will premiere on May 5, 2023. The good news is that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will drop on May 6, a film that could affect the events of Quantumania.
