No Time to Die is yet another title in a long list of blockbuster flicks that suffered from repeated delays due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Hopefully no further delays will occur, and the film will premier on the currently projected date of October 8. The latest Bond film is scheduled to appear in theatres, which are once again awaiting customers as lockdown restrictions are being eased throughout the USA and in other countries.
No Time to Die is set five years following the events of the previous Craig-led Bond film, Spectre. Bond himself has left active service and is dealing with the many traumas incurred during his career as an agent, but inevitably gets dragged back into the world of espionage as key characters from his past reappear. While it isn’t yet clear to what extent Bond will be reinstated as a 00 agent, he’ll definitely be getting the standard new selection of gadgets that every movie has to introduce. The iconic tricked out Aston Martin is making a key reappearance, this time with twin miniguns hidden in the headlights. Cary Joji Fukunaga is directing, with Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear, and Ralph Fiennes all returning to reprise their previous roles, taking Craig’s Bond through a nostalgic trip down memory lane - though a lot of those memories are ones he’d rather forget. Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, and David Dencik are joining in as new characters, both as villains and in supporting roles. No Time to Die premieres on October 8. IO Interactive is currently working on a licensed James Bond game.
