This comes soon after Johnson recently praised Brendan Fraser for his standing ovation performance in The Whale and recognizing Fraser’s role in jump-starting The Rock’s Hollywood career. As Black Adam will be the last major DCEU release for 2022, fan anticipation is high that the movie will set up the future of Warner Bros. Discovery’s superhero cinematic universe. Are there any major revelations that Johnson is hinting at with the new poster and upcoming trailer for Black Adam? Read on for more.
Black Adam posters
The man who built his celebrity status as The Rock in the WWE shared the new poster for Black Adam on his social media channels, such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

In addition, there are solo character posters of these members of the Justice Society of America. The film will be the first big screen appearance of the JSA, which is the precursor to the Justice League. It is historically the first superhero team in comic books.
New trailer
In addition to the poster reveals, Dwayne Johnson shared a video on Instagram showing his surprise appearance for one test screening for Black Adam. In the video, Johnson shocked the audience, who were not expecting the superstar to be present during the proceedings. Although the video did not show any footage from the Black Adam film, it showed the feedback from the viewers. The reactions are generally positive, with one member of the test screening pointing out that the ending was their favorite part. A post shared by Dwayne Johnson (@therock) Johnson thanked the assembled audience for the test screening and emphasized how special this particular DCEU project was to him. Plus, he confirmed that a new Black Adam trailer will be released on September 8, during Thursday Night Football.
Is it Henry Cavill’s Superman return?
Some news sites reportedly leaked that there will be a Superman appearance in Black Adam. While the rumors point out that this supposed leak will be similar to the ending of Shazam! (2019). In that film, a post-credits scene did include a Superman appearance, but without showing his head. The costume was Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel costume, but worn by a body double. However, there is speculation that the earlier screenings had the scene as misdirection and that the final version of the film will have Cavill reprising his Superman role in a cameo. Based on the reactions of the test screening Johnson shared, this may be a confirmation. Fans of the DCEU have been clamoring for Henry Cavill to return and the actor himself has stated that the cape is still in the closet. But with the ongoing difficulties since the WarnerMedia and Discovery merger, it has been unclear whether Cavill and the rest of the Snyderverse would be returning. Another rumor regarding Black Adam is that there will be a separate antagonist. The previous trailers appear to set up Black Adam as the villain with the Justice Society being sent in to stop him. But rumors have been circulating that the demonic Sabbac will be the actual villain of the film, leading to Black Adam teaming up with the JSA to stop him. Will the new trailer reveal more of these rumored plot elements? Black Adam arrives in theaters October 21, 2022.
