However, according to some eagle-eyed observers, Microsoft may have already revealed the location of Forza Horizon 5.
What is Forza Horizon 5’s Location?
At the moment, Microsoft has not confirmed when Forza Horizon 5 will release and what the location is. But, based on rumors so far, there are two frontrunners for the location, Japan and Mexico. Speculations about Forza Horizon 5 being set in Japan first rose after in-game screenshots that showed backgrounds that looked like the outskirts of Yokohama leaked online. However, according to Jeff Grub, a reliable insider from Venture Beat, those screenshots were fake. Perhaps, more importantly, Jeff also claims that Mexico is the Forza Horizon 5 location in a recent Iron Lords podcast. With that said, what leads further credence to his words is what we’ve seen of Forza Horizon 5 so far. If you look closely at the Xbox Series X world premiere trailer that was released way back in December 2019, you can make out what looks to be a sportscar running through a desert landscape right around the 1:00 minute mark. Of course, this isn’t to say for sure that the clip is from Forza Horizon 5 at all. It might just be a placeholder vehicle added to the trailer for no reason. But, if there’s one thing we’re sure of, it’s that we can rule out a reference to Forza Motorsport. Unlike the open-world Horizon racing games, the Motorsport sims always take place on circuits and tracks. Unfortunately, it’ll probably be a while before Microsoft confirms the follow-up to the best racing sim ever released. At the moment, fans are looking forward to seeing the next Forza Motorsport game release sometime in Autumn 2021. If it’s any consolation though, we might see Microsoft reveal Forza Horizon 5 as soon as next month at E3 2021. Microsoft is currently confirmed to make an appearance at the all-digital showcase that will be held from June 12 to June 15.
