Developed by Playground Games, Forza Horizon 5 will be launching on the 9th of November, putting it a good month away - not that a month is ample time to get a PC upgrade into under current circumstances. Getting closer to launch, developers Playground Games have been sharing more and more info about the title, and they revealed the minimum, recommended and ideal system specs you need to run the game on PC.

All three tiers are pretty demanding within their own categories, though anyone with a decent rig from the past few years should be able to hit the lower settings and let loose in the massive Mexico-inspired map. The minimum requirements ask for at least a Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel i5-4460 processor, a Radeon RX 470 or Nvidia GTX 970 graphics card and 8GB of RAM. A step up from chugging along at minimum settings, Playground Games recommends running a Ryzen 5 1500X or Intel i5-8400, a Radeon RX 590 or Nvidia GTX 1070 and 16GB of RAM. Meanwhile the ideal spec will need an upgrade to a Ryzen 7 3800XT or Intel i7-10700K and a Radeon RX 6800 XT or Nvidia RTX 3080.

So today, we’re sharing our PC specs as well as details on supported peripherals, graphics options and much more. It’s all in our latest blog: https://t.co/Bd9tKK63Ot pic.twitter.com/VOAhprB3rR — Forza Horizon (@ForzaHorizon) September 30, 2021 Shared across all specs is a storage space of 110GB, once again a reminder that game sizes are ballooning out of hand with it becoming standard practice for AAA titles to cross three digits. We hope you have enough SSDs! While the minimum spec, as mentioned before, is no biggie for gamers who already have passable and decent rigs, getting an upgrade to an RTX 3080 if you haven’t already isn’t an easy task these days. The same chip shortage that is causing perpetual stock issues with current generation consoles is also affecting GPUs, which are also being poached by crypto miners. Prices are high, availability is low. Forza Horizon 5 does justify all that it asks with the biggest open map the series has ever seen, rendered with loving attention to detail - not that you’ll see much more than a blur of environment around you as you tear up the pavement. A large number of cars have also been recreated with an eye for realism, allowing you to be dazzled by every little reflection on the showroom finish. PC players can expect a full range of visual options, making this more than just a quick console port. The developers spoke about the attention the PC version of the game is getting to ensure ideal and optimized performance, allowing players to adjust a ton of settings, unlock the framerate and play at up to 4K resolution with HDR and ultrawide support. Forza Horizon 5 launches on the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on November 9, 2021.
