Polyphony Digital just released the newest update for the popular racing simulation game. The new patch adds five cars, three new race events, and a pair of new Café Extra Menu items. Sony released a trailer for the update showcasing the brand-new cars coming to the game. The patch went live a few hours ago and players will need to update their game version to continue playing Gran Turismo 7. Polyphony Digital typically has a big update every month with the previous update being the 25th Anniversary Update.
Five new cars added
Five cars have been added to the game. Headlining this month’s update is the new Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo concept car. This is the first time that Ferrari will have a Vision GT in any Gran Turismo game. The Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo is the first single-seater concept car designed by the famed car manufacturer for Gran Turismo 7. The concept car draws inspiration from the Prancing Horse’s prototype cars from the ‘60s and ‘70s. The Ferrari VGT will be powered by a hybrid twin-turbo V6 that is capable of producing 1,015 BHP with an additional 321 BHP from the three electric motors. The Bugatti Chiron will also be coming to GT7. The successor to the popular Veyron sports a massive 8-liter W16 engine that can output 1479 BHP that can propel the massive hypercar to a top speed of 304.8mph. The update also brings the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAM ’20 to Gran Turismo 7. The high-performance four-door sedan has a 2.9L V6 twin-turbo engine that churns out 532 BHO. The car’s aerodynamics was designed in part by the Sauber F1 team. Update 1.27 also adds the new generation Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray ’20 to the game. The C8 Stingray has a new small-block LT2 engine capable of producing 495 BHP. Fans have been asking for the C8 since GT7 was released in March. The new update also sees the return of the iconic Toyota Celica GT-Four Rally Car ’95. The Rally Car sports the popular Castrol livery from the second edition of Gran Turismo on the original PlayStation. This car will bring some nostalgia to long-time Gran Turismo racers like myself.
New additions to Gran Turismo 7
The update will add Extra Menus 14 and 15 as new activities. Extra Menu 14 will have players collect Straight-Six BMWs for a 6-Star Ticket Reward. Extra Menu 15 will be for the Bugatti Collection and will reward players with a 6-Star Engine Ticket. Three new race events will also be added to Gran Turismo 7. Autodromo Nazionale di Monza adds a Hypercar Parade event while Mount Panorama Racing Circuit will have a new American Clubman Cup 700 race. The popular Nurburgring Nordschleife track will see the addition of the European Clubman Cup 600 event. Norway will be added to the Scapes as a new location. There are reportedly new engine swaps available but are not listed in the patch notes. Update 1.27 will also add some fixes and tweaks to the racing simulation game. Gran Turismo 7 is available exclusively on the PS4 and PS5.
