Can You Play Final Fantasy 7 Remake InterMISSION on the PS4?
Unfortunately, PS4 owners probably won’t get a chance to play the InterMISSION DLC. At least, not right away. According to Square Enix’s official description, the Episode InterMISSION DLC will be available for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which, in itself, will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5. Square Enix explains that the episode will come with every purchase of a standard copy of the next-gen version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake for the PlayStation 5. Square Enix also clarified that owners of Final Fantasy 7 Remake for the PlayStation 4 will get the PS5-enhancement update for free. However, this is not necessarily Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. Thus, it won’t come with a free Episode InterMISSION DLC, as it will have to be purchased separately. If it’s any consolation, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, along with the Episode InterMISSION DLC, might release on other consoles after the limited-exclusivity period.
What Is The Story of Final Fantasy 7 Remake InterMISSION?
The famous material hunter, Yuffie Kisaragi, will take center stage in Episode InterMISSION. Square Enix describes the heroine as “self-assured” and “somewhat cocky” but also someone who has “the skills to pay those bills”. Yuffie is also a member of an elite corps of ninja operatives from Wutai, a land that has been ravaged by the Shinra Electric Power Company. Thus, Yuffie has just as much of a score to settle with Shinra as Cloud and his party. According to Square Enix, Yuffie and her partner, Sonon, will work closely with Avalanche HQ. This is the main branch of the same eco-terrorist insurgent group that Barret and Tifa are members of. The two have reportedly been sent to infiltrate Midgar and steal the most powerful material that Shinra has available. But, of course, something that valuable won’t come easy. In the duo’s quest to return their homeland of Wutai to its former glory, Yuffie and Sonon will have to do battle against the likes of Weiss, the ruler of Deepground, an underground research center by Shinra, among others. Square Enix has also confirmed that Yuffie and her party will get a chance to meet with Cloud and his friends. It is currently unknown if Yuffie and Sonon will be playable characters in the Shinra Combat Simulator.

Just how soon is now the question. We’re betting on Square Enix making a huge splash at E3 2021 by releasing a trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 by then.
