Disney+ just released a trailer for the lineup of its upcoming shows for 2023. It is here that we get to see a brief glimpse of Hiddleston in the second season of Loki. The trailer introduced Loki as “this handsome fellow.” He seems to have been caught once again by the TVA. The next scene shows off Loki and Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius wearing tuxedos. The very brief scene is quite interesting as there are three versions of Loki, prompting the question from Mobius. The TVA staff member asks Loki, “a little over the top, don’t you think?” During season 1, Loki introduced several versions of himself. Audiences met Sylvie, Alligator Loki, Old Loki, President Loki, Frost Giant Loki, and many more. There may be more versions of the God of Mischief in season 2. We also get a brief look at Loki wearing a TVA prisoner jumpsuit while free-falling, indicating that he somehow escaped from the clutches of the now-defunct TVA. Returning in the second season of Loki are Sophia Di Martino, Tara Strong, Eugene Cordero, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Additionally, Ke Huy Quan has been cast in the role of a Time Variance Authority archivist in the second season. Rafael Casal and Kate Dickie will also be new additions to Loki Season 2. Kevin Feige first announced Loki Season 2 during D23. Hiddleston, Wilson, Di Martino, and Quan were on stage for the presentation. According to Hiddleston, season 2 will be “exploring the ever-expanding and infinitely more dangerous multiverse.” Wilson teased that the characters will constantly be asking themselves, “How did I get here?” During the D23 presentation, a short video was shown where Loki was “glitching” through time. “This is going to sound strange,” Loki says in the video. “I’ve been pulled through time, and I saw terrible, awful things.” The second season will certainly pick up after the events of Season 1. Loki Season 2 may also incorporate further destabilization of the multiverse with the recent events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It may also tackle part of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The upcoming Ant-Man movie will have Kang the Conqueror as the main antagonist. Loki Season 2 will be streaming on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
