The British video game developers recently announced the F1 2021 game, complete with all of the new features that will be added to the latest installment in the long-running F1 racing simulation video game franchise once it drops later this year.

When is the F1 2021 Game Release Date?

As we previously mentioned, F1 2021 will serve as Codemasters’ first game after Electronic Arts acquired the studio earlier in February of this year. F1 2021 will release during the franchise’s usual July slot, specifically on July 16, 2021. F1 2021 will add a lot of new things to Codemasters’ racing series. This includes the all-new Jeddah street track, as well as Imola and Portimao. This effectively lets gamers complete all the 23 races scheduled for the real-life F1 2021 series. This is also a good response on the part of Codemasters after they did not add Portimao and Imola to F1 2020. Outside of new tracks and courses to race in, F1 2021 will also introduce a new story mode, Braking Point. Codemasters is seemingly excited for the addition of Braking Point to 2021. They describe it as an “epic journey” that players will take as they rise through the ranks from Formula 2 to Formula 1 and will feature everything from races to off-track drama that will give gamers a glimpse of what it’s really like to succeed at the highest level of the sport. Speaking of drama, F1 2021 will bring back Devon Butler, who previously appeared in F1 219 as a fictional rival for that particular iteration’s story mode. Just like previous F1 iterations, Codemasters is giving away early access to those who buy high-end editions of F1 2021. The Digital Deluxe Edition, in particular, will come with multiple bonuses. This includes a 3-day early access to the game and 18,000 Pitcoins, among other things.

Is There an F1 2021 Game Trailer?

Codemasters revealed the new F1 2021 game along with a trailer. It takes gamers through everything the upcoming title will bring to the proverbial table. It’s safe to say that it should give longtime fans of the racing sim something to look forward to.

What’s Next for the F1 franchise?

Any fears around EA’s acquisition of Codemasters and their racing IPs, Dirt and F1, seem a bit silly now. Both games are currently experiencing a lot of success and it’s no secret that players are excited for F1 2021 and whatever Codemasters decides to release for the next Dirt game, following last year’s Dirt 5 release. With that said, it’ll be interesting to see how EA handles having two rival companies under their stable. Codemasters, who are known for their racing games, are in direct competition with Criterion Games and Firemonkeys Studios. Both have taken turns at developing the most recent Need for Speed games. Although EA chose to prioritize the next Battlefield game this year with Criterion Games helping DICE out, next year could see both Criterion Games and Codemasters go head-to-head. If nothing else, this direct competition could end up being better for both franchises and gaming audiences. F1 2021 will serve as the first big AAA racing title to release on next-gen consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, at launch. The game will also be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as the PC.
