Are we going to get Season 5 of Cobra Kai soon?
The series co-creator, Jon Hurwitz, confirmed on Twitter that Cobra Kai Season 5 is already finished after filming in Atlanta, GA these past few months. The confirmation comes just weeks after Hurwitz confirmed that it was almost finished just as Netflix was ramping up its marketing efforts for Season 4.
— Jon Hurwitz (@jonhurwitz) December 19, 2021 Ever since Cobra Kai found a new home on Netflix, the latest seasons have always been released on either New Year’s Day or New Year’s Eve. However, with Cobra Kai Season 5 already finished filming, will Netflix switch things up? We don’t know if this is going to happen, but it is possible. We already know from statements made earlier this year that Cobra Kai isn’t stopping with a fifth season with spin-offs already in discussion. Having said that, it might be premature to talk about Season 5 just yet when we don’t know what’s going to happen in Season 4. Speaking of, the series’ latest season is shaping up to be its biggest yet. The official trailer for Season 4 sees the former rivals in William Zabka’s Johnny and Ralph Macchio’s Danny LaRusso preparing their students for the All Valley Karate Tournament. In addition to the return of Johnny’s former mentor, Martin Kove’s John Kreese, Cobra Kai Season 4 will bring back a former adversary in Thomas Ian Griffith’s Terry Silver from 1989’s The Karate Kid Part III. With Xolo Maridueña’s Miguel Diaz officially back in action to defend his title at the upcoming All Valley Karate Tournament and an antagonistic Robby Keene now fighting for Cobra Kai, there’s a lot to look forward to in Season 4. Here’s to hoping that the fourth season does a great job at setting up the future of the Miyagi-verse.
