Here’s everything that you need to know about the Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 update.
When is the Vanguard Season 1 update release date?
Our mid-season #Vanguard Zombies update drops on Tuesday, and with Jan. 15th coming up next Saturday, we figured we’d post our 115 Day blog a bit earlier than usual this year with all the details. Stay tuned next week! — Treyarch Studios (@Treyarch) January 6, 2022 Treyarch celebrates the Black Ops Zombies storyline every year on January 15. It is also during this time that Treyarch announces new content into that year’s Zombies experience. It just so happens that Call of Duty: Vanguard is the first non-Treyarch Call of Duty game to have a Zombies experience, which is why this is worth mentioning. Having said that, the actual multiplayer and Zombies experience is different. We have zero clue about what’s going to come with the former (nor the latter, anyway). But, we’re expecting a laundry list of fixes, changes, and of course, a handful of new content along with the roadmap’s release. Unfortunately, we have little idea when the update is going to come. Sledgehammer Games previously delayed an early December update to work on the multiplayer side of things. When you consider the holidays and the Omicron variant of COVID-19, we wouldn’t be surprised if the mid-season update doesn’t come within this month.
What’s next for Call of Duty?
In the meantime, Call of Duty fans can keep themselves busy with all the leaks and speculation about 2022’s Call of Duty game. According to the most recent info dump from Tom Henderson, Infinity’s Call of Duty will have free-to-play elements and a single-player campaign that will focus on Latin America’s cartels, among other things. The report comes just weeks after another insider claimed that Ghost’s original voice actor is coming back for Call of Duty 2022. Also, as mentioned by Tom Henderson back in October 2021, Call of Duty 2022’s name will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Of course, this is all assuming that Activision-Blizzard is going to release a new Call of Duty game this year. There is speculation that Activision-Blizzard is reconsidering its yearly release slate. If this is true, we might not see a new Call of Duty game until 2023.
