Last year had some big gaming leaks for upcoming titles and this year we are starting off with some new leaked images from Armored Core 6. These new images come courtesy of Gearphyr over in the Armored Core subreddit. The Reddit post contains a set of twelve images that allegedly are from Armored Core 6. However, these are very low-quality images that show more of the environment of the upcoming mecha game. The poster said that these were from the unfinished game. The images may have been part of the leak from six months ago with the watermarks removed. The images contain blurry lines that may have been drawn over by the poster using photo-editing software. The images are interesting though as they show gamers scenes from the planet Rubicon which looks cloudy and hazy, presumably from the fires that continue to burn on the surface. The setting looks like a post-apocalyptic world similar to the Fallout or Metro series of games. According to the lore of the game, humanity found a new energy source which ultimately caused a cataclysmic event that engulfed the planet in flames. Armored Core VI: Flames of Rubicon is set fifty years after the event just as humanity starts to recover from the catastrophe. Reddit users have been commenting that the mecha of the upcoming Armored Core game looks different from the previous entries in the series. Users are saying that the mechas shown in the leaked images look similar to designs made by Shoji Kawamori, creator of the Macross anime series. Armored Core 6 game director Masaru Yamamura previously revealed that the upcoming game is a soft reboot of the series in terms of its lore. The mecha designs may have been included in the reboot of the series.   Armored Core VI: Flames of Rubicon will focus on a single-player campaign and will not be featuring multiplayer co-op mode. The upcoming mecha game will allow players to upgrade and customize their Armored Cores and show them off in multiplayer PVP games. Armored Core 6 is the first entry into the series in a decade as FromSoftware has been focusing on Soulsborne games like the recent Game of the Year Winner Elden Ring. The Demon’s Souls series, Sekiro, and Bloodborne have helped make FromSoftware one of the most well-known game developers in the action RPG genre. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will be launching on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
