The reimagined version of Resident Evil 4 will have detailed graphics thanks to Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, delivering modernized gameplay, similar to their other games like the Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes. Resident Evil 4 features some of the most iconic Resident Evil characters, including Leon, Ada Wong, Ashley, Luis, and Ingrid, among others.
It is a significant find as the game was officially confirmed for PS4 but not the Xbox One. According to the listing, it is assumed that Resident Evil 4 Remake will also be coming to the Xbox One. The confusion started with the remake’s announcement during the Tokyo Game Show 2022, where Capcom announced that the game would only be available on the PlayStation 4/5 and Xbox S|X consoles. Twitter user JamieMoranUK mentioned that the listing had been up for almost a month, with people just noticing it now.
— Jamie Moran (@JamieMoranUK) September 23, 2022 According to DuskGolem, a Capcom and Konami insider, the remake was always planned for last-gen and new-gen consoles. DuskGolem is a reliable insider, as he also recently corroborated his leaks with a new unannounced Silent Hill game rating in South Korea.
— AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) September 23, 2022 The reason for not announcing it is still unclear. However, it seems it has something to do with their marketing strategy. The Resident Evil showcase is scheduled for October 2022, where we will learn more about the Resident Evil series, including the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Delaying the proper announcement would make sense regarding marketing, as the showcase is just around the corner. Revealing more information about one of their most popular title during the showcase makes the most sense. Additionally, the listing also reveals the price of the game. According to the listing, the game will cost £59.99 and will be released on March 24, 2023.
