Naughty Dog recently posted several jobs for various designations, including character artists. The job responsibilities state that the artist should be able to either create brand new in-game items or use existing Naughty Dog assets to incorporate into its upcoming project. Of course, with changes to the existing assets. The in-game items mentioned include outfits, realistic animals, detailed texturing for clothes, realistic skin textures, setting up shaders, and creating backstories through damage and dirt on the clothing items. The last bit about creating stories and resonating with the players sounds very much like The Last of Us game set in a world after a major disaster. In other words, a post-apocalyptic setting. Despite numerous title releases, the post-apocalyptic genre still seems to captivate the audience, as proven by the recent Resident Evil titles. Plus, Naughty Dog is capitalizing on the success of their game by bringing the players a much-awaited and requested Last of Us TV series scheduled to premiere on HBO with no official release date. While the job posting doesn’t mention the project, it still gives us an idea that the team is likely working on a large-scale project that requires talented developers. For now, the players can once again experience the gritty post-apocalyptic story in an even more detailed environment through The Last of Us Remake on the PS5 and the PC.
